Welcome and thank you for visiting George Anderson Photography – Fine Art Nature Photography.

George Anderson (1916-1997) was a professional portrait photographer, photojournalist, and documentary film maker. George’s true passion was creating images of  natural beauty in California’s mountains and deserts and beyond.  His first images were captured in Black & White, using an array of large format cameras, in 5×7 and 8×10 negative formats.  Later he used a number of 35mm cameras, preferring the Leica cameras and lenses.  While George was first attracted to capturing the wild California landscape, later in life he was inspired to focus down into the faces – portraits, if you will –  of mountain and desert wildflowers.

I am thrilled to make my father’s art available through this website. I invite you to immerse yourself in George’s beautiful images of California landscapes and wildflowers. I look forward to bringing George’s art into your home, office, business, or healthcare facility where I know they will inspire, comfort, and uplift all who view them.

George was a great supporter of a number of conservation efforts. In this spirit, I have chosen to donate 5% of  sales of color wild flower and landscape photographs to the Center for Plant Conservation.

George’s Black and White images were made in the 1950’s and early 1960’s.  Please note these photographs are offered in limited editions and are signed and stamped for authentication.

Visit us often as images will be added to the photo galleries on a regular basis.  I will be posting updates on Facebook, as well as fascinating facts about the flowers, and delightful stories about George’s life. Please contact me with any questions, special order requests, or comments. I look forward to hearing from you!
