George’s “Solidad Gold”

Today I opened my Nature Conservancy monthly newsletter and discovered a wonderful video series, “Notes from the Field”, depicting animals in their habitats in California ecosystems.

The Carrizo Plain, about 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles, was one of George’s favorite places. During the 1980’s there was a campaign to save this unique grassland and I remember George actively supporting this effort.

When I saw that the most recent video was of the Carizzo Plain National Monument about Giant Kangaroo Rats, I knew I had to post it! George loved these little guys! They are pretty cute.

Notes from the Field

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to enjoy “Notes from the Field”.
