Halloween - Eleanor’s Birthday

George and Eleanor grilling on the beach - maybe La Jolla or San Onorfre - 1959

My mom was born on Halloween. She would be 104 this year. George and Eleanor shared a love of being with family and friends in the outdoors. We often camped at San Onofre in the summer and supper was grilled on the beach. Strong and wonderful memories.

George often used untraditional sources for birthday cards. Here is one he gave Eleanor (ACE). “It’s the rare plant that blossoms when the going gets tough - Happy Birthday “ACE”, Love Me”

George’s, “Desert Sunflowers Reaching High” -

Another view of the Desert Sunflowers depicted in the birthday card to Eleanor.

Mom, you were a radiant blossom of love for all of us. We feel that love still today. Happy Birthday.
